[Delightful! Invigorating! Unsettling! Yeah, he's moving along through the books in what he's hoping is chronological order. They're so neatly laid out and all.]
[It does seem to be chronological! Moving on through the books will get him a variety, ranging from actual, literal pages of handwritten code, to what seem like... schedules and activity logs.
Everything on those schedules and logs are done to the minute, though the actual activities on them are remarkably mundane. Wake up, go to bed. Shower. Read. Paint. So on and so forth. Whoever made these books was very, very precise, though, with everything that had to be done.]
[Hm. Phantom tries skipping to the end of the shelves to see if it's more of the same, or if there are any recent changes. Any dates to go with the times on the activity logs, and is it current?]
[There are no dates to go with the activity logs, actually. There's a conspicuous absence of dates in every book - even the diary Julius is looking at.
The contents of the books stays pretty much the same, up until the last three, and it seems like whoever is writing these books is easing up. The writing is less stiff and perfect, though still neat, and the times being logged are less precise. The last three are not in binary like the rest of the books, as well.
There's more personal notes in these books, with mentions of meeting people and spending time with them, though there's nothing written that could actually identify who these people are. That's about all for this bookshelf, though.]
[Seems like Marcus went up to the attic, considering he pulled the attic stairs down.
There's two other doors in the hallway, and stairs leading down to the first floor. What does he feel like looking at with Marcus up in an attic adventure?]
[Not to be a coward about this, but he's kind of a coward. Eyeing Julius to see if he has backup, Phantom sort of tentatively heads towards the nearest door. He doesn't want any surprises appearing from behind them if there's something downstairs...]
Who knows! But I think it was placed by someone that was here before us. The paper's pretty new.
[ he preens, eyes sparkling with vibrant curiosity. ]
It could be like in the movies, you know? Maybe if we go before there's some sign, then we could all get brutally killed. And this is a secret message from someone that might want to help us. Or they want to kill us. Who knows?!
[ anyways, he'll hand julius the house key that he found. ]
I also found this. Oh, and it looks like someone was making little figures and whistles and other jewelry like stuff in the shapes of animals! They're all signed with the letter "L". Doesn't that remind you of how Lorelei's secret talent is jewelry making?
[He's just going to see if he can get to the attic while also keeping half an eye on Flat while he's still within lunge range. Disregard the awkward sidle.]
The books are one of the sturdier things we have, and I doubt that's sufficient. We may need to keep looking. [...] Flat found a strange note that said "wait."

Hello world.
[Written over and over and over again in that one book. Might be best to put that one down and see what else is there.]

Other than that, he's had a good run with this bookshelf. Turning to speak to everyone except Flat - or Marcus - actually maybe just to Julius:]
Have you covered the other areas?
no subject
He nods towards the drawer and the diary in his hand. ]
I think I got everything out of here. I think Flat's still looking through the rest of it.
[ looks at him playing with Milk Ape. ]
no subject
You may want to double check anything he does.
[But Julius gets a wave of acknowledgement and Phantom will also head for the hallway to see more of the house. Hopefully not too close to Marcus.]

There's a light on downstairs. I'm not sure if that means if anyone's home or not.

What.

anyways, he's the one armed with a box cutter, so-- ]
Wait.
no subject
Wait for what?
[ We've established its not Lorelei, but have we seen this writing elsewhere? ]
no subject
Well.
It matches the rest of the writing in the room, but you can't recall seeing it anywhere before today..]

It's the same handwriting as what's in the diary, too.
[ So... Lorelei's here? The fuck does any of this mean... ]
no subject
Phantom manages to only startle back a little, but he takes the paper and... Hm.]
I should tell Marcus.
no subject
You should. If you want.

Yo. Seen anything that would be good for smashing a wall or two?

[DOUBT.
Also he's not relieved Marcus is here, what.]

[...]
"Wait"? That's about as vague as it comes. Wait for what?
