...Well, I'm not sure it had anything you can use. But let's check the room with the table.

[Back upstairs! Before anyone can catch Phantom having an Emotion on his face.]

Sounds like a plan.

[Okay, it's at least in part because he is not sure he really wants to leave Phantom all on his own in what is clearly at least a somewhat haunted house, but. Phantom doesn't need to know that part, because that will just make him cranky.

I should warn you the lights may go out at any time. Or... other phenomena.

[Back up to the room with the table, armed with a knife and one (1) bodyguard(????). Phantom is still a little ruffled by having to have feelings but that's not going to stop this investigation. So what do they have here?]

[The table is still where he left it! Have no worries about that. There's a few things on it, if they want to take a closer look, but it doesn't seem like there's anything that appeared after he left.]

[Sure, he'll take a look at the table. Maybe he'll actually have some luck finding something this time This is an excellent way to avoid thinking about feelings, yes. For once, he is actually in agreement with Phantom about something.

So, what's on this table?]

[Well, for one, there's another knife.

For another, there is a pair of metal knitting needles.

And the final thing on the table is a lighter.]

[Phantom will leave the knife to Marcus, as a treat. Raising an eyebrow at that combination though. He goes for the lighter instead! Anything of interest about it?]

[It’s a heavy, reusable metal lighter with a bluebell image etched into the metal on one side. On the other side is a snake coiled around a staff. If he shakes it, he can hear something sloshing inside of it.]

Well, the simplest way to test what the liquid inside is is by trying to light it, so. He can't resist the attempt.]

Okay he's just flicking it a few more times to verify that and then closing it.]

Hm. I don't think we've seen this symbol elsewhere.

[Filing that thought away as he goes for the needles. He knew Marcus would want the knife.]

[He flicks it, and the lighter produces flame every time! Huzzah!

The knitting needles are... well. Knitting needles. There's two of them, made out of brass - I don't know if Phantom actually knows what brass is, but that's what they are. There's no yarn in sight, though, so he can't make anything right now. They're not as extravagant as the knife or lighter, though, with no carvings or decorations to them. They're just knitting needles.]

[Phantom probably knows what brass is - actually, the bigger question is probably if he knows what knitting needles are, but he does now! Hm. Well, if there's no mysterious substances on these, he'll look around the rest of the room to make sure there's nothing overlooked.]

[They are mystery free! Beyond the mystery of why they're there in the first place, that is.

The rest of the room is also clear, so Phantom and Marcus are free to move on or reconvene with the rest of the party.]

[Man, and after he just gave Phantom a knife too...!

Oh well. Time to examine this one and not think too hard about why it's just lying around randomly on a table.]

[You give a knife, you get a knife. That's knarma.

This is a much more ornate knife than the kitchen knife he gave Phantom, though! So that's a bonus. The blade is narrow but looks incredibly sharp, and the hilt is wrapped in colorful fabric, with feathers attached to it like a charm.

There's something dark dried on the tip of the blade.]

[... uh. Well. So Marcus has a ton of battle experience, would he be able to recognize that something dark...]

[He would be able to recognize that it's not blood, yes!

Or at least not blood he's familiar with, if it is blood, because the stain is a very dark, almost black green.]

[We're not having a repeat of Once Upon and Marcus licking strange and questionable things today

He will sniff it, though... he's not expecting much because it's dried, but does it smell like anything?]

[Any smell that's there is very faint, but it smells very floral and vaguely metallic. That could just be because he's sniffing a knife, but. It's worth noting.]

[Hmm, interesting. He'll be taking the knife with him for sure.

And just to confirm, the dark stuff is only on the tip, like it was used for stabbing rather than slashing?]

[Correct! It was a big poke that got that stain on it.

With Phantom grabbing the knitting needles, that's it for them! They can move on, or go meet back up with Julius or Flat. Or the both of them.

Or they can continue having their alone time to bond, we're not here to judge.]

What a strange assortment of objects. I doubt any of these will be much use breaking a wall either.

[At least Marcus is armed now, they can fight a haunted house if they have to.]
