Blurb: Owen is an incredibly powerful and incredibly dangerous wizard who bucks a lot of the rules regarding how magic actually works. He's just special that way. He has a mysterious past he doesn't want to talk about, and he also doesn't like to experience any emotions that make him feel weak or vulnerable. He'll have a great time here. He also enjoys fucking with people - he delights in toying with people's emotions and seeing what he can do to get a reaction and how far he can push them, and he thrives (quite literally, actually, considering his magic is fueled by Bad Vibes) off of other people's misery. Sometimes he's nice, though!! He just acts on impulse and his impulse is usually "lash out and hurt". When the impulse is to soothe or be sympathetic, he's as confused as anyone else. He expects people to hate him so whenever they don't or expect he will do something good, he just kind of bluescreens and gives up on being a nuisance.

He also has an enormous sweet tooth that is obvious from several thousands of miles away, so just give him anything with an excessive amount of sugar and he'll be more open to cooperation. Or will at least be quiet.

Also, partly because of how Owen is and who he is, there are a fair few trigger warnings that may come up in threads with him! These include death (including but not limited to murder, suicide, death by illness), violence and gore (particularly eye scream), child abuse... MHYK also deals a lot with prejudice and the awful things people do because of their bigotry, and how the victims cope with that hatred, even if it's all based on fantasy things such as "being a wizard". Still, it's a thing, and a pretty big part of how Owen interacts with the world. For reasons.

Looking for: ANYTHING AT ALL BUT more specifically I'd DEFINITELY love people who are a little like him, whether vigilantes, idols (or idol fans), redheads (lol), loud, boisterous sorts, the type to protect others, etc. Negative CR is also fine, so if your character is just a right bastard who needs a Batman speech made at them, he's perfect for that, AND I'd love it. It would also be fun for an older character to take him under their wing a little bit and/or call him on his bluff/bullshittery. He's honestly a nice guy underneath it all, but he'll be the first to deny it. If your character (or you as a player) doesn't like double-talk and can't stand some two-faced-ness, he's a bad match for deep CR. However, considering he just comes off as fun-loving and wild on the surface, pretty much anyone can get on THAT level with him!
Offering: He'll be anyone's big bro or mom friend, easy! I know he's young, but he has a protective streak a mile wide. If someone needs cheering up, he can usually swing that, and will! He loves bringing smiles to people's faces, so he's quick to try to make the mood lighter around people who can't handle darker things. His weakness is airheads who can't make their own way basically, so anyone like that would be ideal CR for his protective side, and will probably get him into heaps of trouble. Also, if you end up with CR with Shizuku, he'll probably keep a close eye on your character!!!

Miach loves books and narrating trivia endlessly. She doesn't care for ordinary humans, and at her core only wants the right to decide for herself how she is going to be hurt - because that she is going to be hurt has been a foregone conclusion for all her life. Recently, she's experienced something that makes her feel like life without pain may be possible but ah... what a can of worms that is.

She's a really sad character, but she is also just kind of an unlikeable person. Cannot wait for you guys to meet her!!

Looking for: Everything! By nature of being Miach, she will likely attract some negative CR and I am super down for it. She'll jive well with other cynical people from back badgrounds, and she'll love talking about books with anyone.
Offering: Your manic pixie dream girl, except she only talks about death and violence. Dances around a lot, very ethereal, will lecture you endlessly... Looking for: Yes! I like to play it by ear for the most part- things happen, or don't happen! :0 I will say though, Shizuku's 100% sweet, doesn't even wish anything bad on her worst tormenters and will probably not meet negative cr on the same level.

Blurb: Julius is a former agent and department director of the biggest Corporation in his country/world after getting (falsely) branded a criminal mastermind and terrorist after a train got hijacked. He's the older half-brother of the protagonist and acts as that typical cryptic dude that shows up sometimes to talk to the protag but usually fucks around off-camera. He really loves cats! And also tomatoes. Yes this is important.

Looking for: I tend to be very much a "go with the flow" kind of individual as far as CR is concerned, but I'm beyond down with just about everything, positive and negative included! Julius is generally fairly mild in disposition, except in certain cases, so he's definitely easy to get along with!
Offering: Emotionally aloof big bro with a massive chip on his shoulder and is in a constant existential crisis. Please talk to him about cats.

Unfortunately none of those things make him particularly likable. Even if you show interest in his hobbies, he might decide you're a "fake fan"... but if you keep praising him he'll probably end up getting suckered in by it anyways.

He's a nerd-shaped blob of trust issues and he's likely going to be suspicious of literally anyone and everyone, but if he weren't stressed and mad all the time he would just want to bury himself in books and magic research. His range runs from mean to just awkward, he makes bad decisions, and he's absolutely here to be enabled into more of them. Deep deep deep down he is a good(?) guy in the worst ways possible!


Looking for: For real, everything! If you have a character that is genuinely nice to him they will probably own his soul forever. And can then have him commit crimes for them. Mages and other nerds would give him a chance to geek out and he might briefly experience happiness, which he may or may not be allergic to. Negative CR is also welcome and very likely! Again, mess.
Offering: Snarky cynical commentary and magic/engineering expertise. Beneath the cynicism he has questionable amounts of common sense, so he can pretty easily be brought into shenanigans or be a very reactive target to pranks. Also if you want a mean guy who is also easy to make cry, I have great news.

He was also a Counter Guardian for a time which is a very nasty job to have for a guy like him and involves weird time travel and magical nonsense and death. Overthrew the government once!! Gremlin.

Looking for: Anything is really the most honest answer I can give lmao. Half of the fun of playing Ryouma is that he's very reactive and tends to have his own odd way of going about things and so it's interesting to see how he'll respond to everyone. His thing is that he has a hard time getting close to people both because he doesn't talk about himself or because some people have a tendency to find his attitude annoying or off-putting because it's difficult to know what he's thinking sometimes, so him getting any close friends/found family type CR would be lovely and very nice. But negative CR is also welcome I'm not picky!!

Offering: A VERY TALKATIVE FRIEND. Who would die for his friends. And also die for not his friends too??? Will do whatever he can to help whether it's advice or an actual helping hand. Okay jokes aside, Shin is a child soldier that's been enlisted since he was 11, so at this point he's more than acquainted with the battlefield and its horrors to the point where he's pretty much numb to it all. As you can imagine, that totally makes him a hoot at parties where he just wallflowers and watches people as they do their thing (or ignores them, depends on his mood). With that said, he's also fairly laid-back, so he's honestly not that hard to get along with as long as certain buttons aren't pushed and someone's willing to deal with him "......" at them when he doesn't feel like he wants to answer something. And despite coming off as indifferent and apathetic to most things, he can also play along with silly shit tbqh, he's not a complete stick in the mud. Just don't expect his expression to change much the whole time.

Also, just a heads up but because 86 is about child soldiers that have been conscripted and shipped off to war by a country that has stripped them of all human rights, there's a number of CW worthy topics that could potentially come up in convos. While I can definitely steer away from topics if needed, Shin can also be very blunt about what he's experienced and isn't the type to sugarcoat things.

Considering how he's pretty quiet though, more outgoing individuals would probably be able to get more conversation out of him but Shin is also content to hang out with someone in a corner reading books or something. They can have a book club. And as mentioned before, while he isn't the life of a party or anything, he also isn't opposed to participating in certain games or getting dragged along to help carry groceries (within limits) or whatever, so have at it!!!

Okay but honestly, once you get past all that stoicism and aloofness, he can actually be a pretty good friend even if he's not always the most... gentle... when it comes to comforting people. If he even comforts people at all. But he does care in his own weird way and if he considers you a comrade then he'll quite literally remember you for the rest of his life. Yeah.

I will also say that it's near impossible to get him to actually hate someone!! So he can definitely tolerate assholes just fine and sometimes can even sass back a little bit. Otherwise he's also pretty good at playing the straight man or just being rude by virtue of him being stupidly blunt.
